Allegations:

In response to my client’s younger sister being bullied at school, my client confronted these girls with her boyfriend.  They found the girls at a park, struck two of the girls with their vehicle, then, while her boyfriend smashed up their car with a shovel, my client threatened them with a knife.

Result:

I resolved her matter with a Peace Bond, resulting in the immediate withdrawal of her criminal charge.

Allegations:

My client was on a Peace Bond for a prior incident of assaulting his wife.  In this new case, he was accused of breaching the “no contact” condition of that peace bond, and of assaulting her again, this time by choking her in a fit of rage.

Result:          

The Crown was seeking a period of jail, followed by a period of probation. However, I persuaded the judge to grant him a Conditional Discharge, resulting in no criminal record.

My client was accused of assaulting her boyfriend’s baby by excessively spanking the baby’s front and back parts, causing bruising all over his body, because he would not stop crying. My client initially lied about how the injuries occurred, but later confessed to the truth.

The Crown was seeking a period of incarceration.  However, after extensive arguments in court, supported by expert medical evidence, I succeeded in obtaining for my client a Conditional Discharge, resulting in no criminal record.

Allegations:

My client was accused of assaulting both his girlfriend and her teenage daughter and threatening to smash his girlfriend’s head into the wall, break her neck and burn her with a cigarette.

Allegations:

My client was accused of groping girls at a music concert at a casino.  He fought the security guards who kicked him out, and then he assaulted the police officer that arrested him, ripping his uniform, and attempted to strike other officers. He also tried to grab the police officer’s gun while being escorted from the premises and kicked at the glass on the door while being brought out.  He was heavily intoxicated.

Result:          

I negotiated a guilty plea to resisting arrest only and obtained a conditional discharge, resulting in all criminal charges being withdrawn at completion of one year on probation.
